New Delhi [India], July 29 (ANI): Shilpa Shetty closed her jazz-themed couture show for designer Dolly J on Thursday. Looking gorgeous in an embellished tulle gown, Shilpa was all smiles on the ramp.
Dolly J Studio showcased its new collection which includes beautiful shades of gold, lilac, pink and sparkling silver.
Dolly J added a touch of drama with tulle, feathers, and liquid textures.
The designer didn’t put on another show! The venue was changed to a New York-themed one with velvet maroon curtains flowing in the background, a piano on the stage, wooden beams all around and lavish bouquets of flowers. Live jazz music was the cherry on the cake.
Talking about her collection ‘Meraki’, Dolly said, “The collection inspires a calmness which is foundational in growth and progress. The collection is close to my heart as I have incorporated elements of Jazz in it. It also brings to the fore the rich craftsmanship of our country.”
Excited about the choice of Dolly J, Shilpa said, “The best thing about this outfit is that it has pockets. I was missing one of my wedding reception outfits!”
Shilpa said, “I wanted to show how multi-purpose this outfit is besides being gorgeous, which is why I took the lipstick out of my pocket and applied it on the ramp.”
The intricate detailing done with the embellishments complimented the beautiful color palette chosen by Dolly for the collection.
Dolly said, “Every bride should have fun on her wedding day and that’s the idea we kept in mind while curating Meraki!”
Dolly concluded by saying, “Clothing week is back in its glory, and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this comeback. Even though FDCI continues the show in a grand manner with online shows, the excitement of Fashion Week is unparalleled.”
A host of guests, including bloggers, fashion influencers, socialites and celebrities, cheered for the designer as she showcased the collection. Ranbir Kapoor’s sister Riddhima Kapoor was also present on the occasion. (ANI)
