Puneri Paltan put on a clinical display to register a 43-38 win over Dabang Delhi in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) here on Tuesday.
Akash Shinde and Mohit Goyat both put on 13 points in scintillating performances, while Fazal Atrachali’s defense ensured that the home team suffered their fifth consecutive loss to Delhi.
After trading a pair of empty raids, Goyat brought the packed crowd to their feet, touching Krishna, Anil Kumar, Vijay Kumar with a super raid that put Paltan in the lead.
That single raid set the tone for the majority of the half, as the platoon confidently rioted on Delhi’s defense. The first all out came in the first five minutes as the Pune side extended their lead to 10-3.
Despite resistance from Delhi at a slow pace, Paltan got a second chance to take a big lead.
Dabang Delhi looked a bit different. Slowly though, he set his foot back with Naveen Kumar finding his feet to bring Fazal Atrachali and Gaurav Khatri back into the game.
They trailed 23-17 in the break, but only two Pune players were left on the mat.
