Uttar Pradesh police arrested 6 accused

UP Police has arrested six people in connection with the rape and murder of 15 and 17 year old sisters. UP ADG (L&O) Prashant Kumar said, “The post-mortem has been completed, the body has been handed over to the family for last rites.”

The accused have been identified as Chhotu, Junaid, Suhail, Karimuddin, Arif and Hafeez-ur-Rehman. Uttar Pradesh Police said Junaid was arrested after an encounter with the police in which he was shot in the leg.

After arresting the accused within 24 hours of the crime, the Uttar Pradesh Police said that justice would be done. On Thursday evening, the five accused were produced before a magistrate, except Junaid, who was admitted to the hospital due to injuries sustained during the encounter. Later, he will be produced before the Additional District Judge.

Demand for table of victim’s family

After both his daughters were murdered and raped, the father said, “I demand justice.” Further, establishing that the girls’ family demanded death penalty for the accused, they refused to perform the last rites of their deceased teenage daughters.
