Six of the top 10 companies lost ₹49,231 crore in m-cap; HUL biggest drag

The combined market valuation of six of the 10 most valuable firms fell below this FMCG major Hindustan Unilever was the biggest hit last week with Rs 49,231.44 crore. The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 159.18 points or 0.26% last week.

Bharti Airtel, ITC, ICICI Bank and HDFC twins were the other laggards from the top-10 list, while TCS, SBI, Reliance Industries and Infosys posted gains.

However, the combined market valuation advantage of the four firms 35,840.35 crore was less than the total loss incurred by the six companies.

Hindustan Unilever’s market valuation has declined 15,918.48 crore to reach 6,05,759.87 crores.

Bharti Airtel’s market capitalization (mcap) fell 12,540.63 crore from 4,29,474.82 crore and ITC declined 11,420.89 crore from 4,60,932.38 crores. ICICI Bank lost stands at 6,863.37 crores 5,95,885.63 crores.

hdfc bank mcap down 1,255 crores from 9,23,933.45 crore and HDFC’s fell stands at 1,233.07 crores 4,91,080 crores.

TCS continues to grow 19,612.52 crore, taking its valuation 12,93,639.32 crores. The mcap of State Bank of India (SBI) jumped 7,585.92 crore to reach 4,93,486.41 crores.

Index heavyweight Reliance Industries’ valuations climbed 4,938.8 crores from 15,80,653.94 crore and Infosys increased 3,703.11 crores from 6,76,638.36 crores.

In the ranking of most valuable Indian firms, Reliance Industries retained its top position, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, ICICI Bank, SBI, HDFC, ITC and Bharti Airtel.
