Snake bitten Chhattisgarh woman brought on cot in waist-deep water

Chhattisgarh: It was difficult to reach the village, said an official.

Officials said that a tribal woman bitten by a snake was carried on a cot on her shoulder in waist-deep water in Chhattisgarh as health officials could not reach her village due to heavy rains.

At least eight villagers carried the tribal woman on a cot on her shoulders across the drain in Mungeli district. There was another woman on the cot with him.

Mungeli Additional Collector Teerthraj Agarwal said it was difficult to reach the village as health officials were present in another village that was cut off due to heavy rains.

“It was a very specific case. The drain was flooded due to which it had to be carried on a cot. Due to several NGT (National Green Tribunal) regulations and the high cost of construction of around 10-12 crores, the proposal Takes time to pass. The proposal will be sent to the authorities soon,” he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
