Ram Gopal Varma’s hugely successful 1991 film Kshan Kshanam introduced MM Keeravani.
Keeravani was awarded the Padma Shri by President Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Wednesday.
RRR director SS Rajamouli posted a picture on social media with composer MM Keeravani, congratulating him on the Padma Shri award, the country’s fourth highest civilian honour. “Very proud of my Pedanna,” he wrote in the caption of the photo. Since they are cousins, SS Rajamouli refers to MM Keeravani as his elder brother. A picture of Keeravani wearing the Padma badge on his shirt was posted by the RRR director. ,
Keeravani was awarded the Padma Shri by President Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Wednesday. The awardees also called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who also attended the presentation ceremony.
After the announcement of MM Keeravani receiving the Padma Award, SS Rajamouli took to social media to express his intense excitement. He wrote, “As many of your fans feel, this recognition was really long overdue. But, as you say, the universe has a strange way of rewarding one’s efforts. If I could If I can talk about, I would say Konchem gap ivamma. Okati purthiga enjoy chesaka inkoti ivvu (Please give us a gap. Let us enjoy one prize and then go for the next).

Ram Gopal Varma’s highly successful 1991 film Kshan Kshanam introduced MM Keeravani, making him a noted music director. He has more than 220 films in various Indian languages as his compositions. Apart from Telugu songs, he has composed music for Hindi films like Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin, Sur The Melody of Life, Zakhm, Saya, Jism, Criminal, Special 26, Rog and Paheli. In addition, he has received one Tamil Nadu State Film Award, eleven Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Awards and a National Award.
After RRR, SS Rajamouli reveals his next project with Mahesh Babu. The film is still in the early stages of script development, production etc. but according to the director, his film will be an action adventure that will travel the world.
