Some of Koshyari’s comments were misinterpreted, MVA had special grudge against him: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday defended outgoing Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, saying that some of his photographs have been misinterpreted. He alleged that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), an alliance comprising the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the Congress and the Thackeray-led BJP faction, continues to protest against Koshyari.

The senior leader said in the document, “Bhagat Singh Koshyari had stopped the Maha Vikas Aghadi, so their leaders especially had animosity towards Koshyari. Koshyari had already wished to release his shareholders and now the central government has accepted his resignation. His performance as the Governor of Maharashtra has been excellent.

Rashtrapati Bhavan said on Sunday that President Draupadi Murmu has accepted Koshyari’s resignation. Ramesh Bais, who was the governor of Jharkhand on his territory, has been given the responsibility of Maharashtra.

Fadnavis said, “Many people tried to drag Koshyari into the connection. Some misinterpreted his interpretation, but he (Koshyari) clarified his position from time to time and now the chapter is closed.
