Actress Sonam Kapoor is all set to share the stage with global icons like Lionel Richie and Katy Perry at the Grand Coronation concert planned for King Charles III In May.
The 74-year-old royal will be formally crowned as monarch on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London with his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, and millions are expected to attend the ceremony over the long holiday weekend.
Kapoor has been invited to deliver a special spoken word piece at the much-anticipated Coronation Concert, where she will feature Steve Winwood and the exclusive Commonwealth Virtual Choir, at Windsor Castle on May 7, said a press release.
The concert – produced, staged and broadcast live by the BBC and BBC Studios – will feature global music icons and contemporary stars celebrating the historic occasion.

Kapoor’s work will serve as a prelude to an inspirational virtual choir performance by the Commonwealth, featuring choirs, soloists and duets from 56 Commonwealth countries, with Steve Winwood performing a modern version of his iconic song “Higher Love” . Sonam will be the only Indian celebrity to be present and participate in the event.
The concert, hosted by Hugh Bonneville, will feature artists such as Perry, Richie, Andrea Bocelli, Brian Terfel, Freya Ridings, Alexis French and a collaboration of five Royal Patrons among others.
