Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah told news agency ANI that Sourav Ganguly Has not resigned from the post of BCCI President. Speculation about Ganguly’s future began when he posted a cryptic tweet about starting “something that I think will probably help a lot of people”.

“2022 is the 30th year since the beginning of my journey with cricket in 1992. Since then, cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me the support of all of you. I thank every person I want someone who has been a part of the journey, supported me and helped me get to where I am today. Today, I plan to start something that I think will probably help a lot of people. Me Hope you continue your support as I enter this chapter of my life,” Ganguly tweeted.

“The rumors of Mr. Sourav Ganguly stepping down as BCCI President are factually incorrect. We have some exciting times coming up in the form of media rights and my colleagues and I are fully focused on the upcoming opportunity and interests. of Indian cricket,” Jay Shah, BCCI secretary told ANI.

Ganguly played 113 Tests and 311 ODIs for India, scoring over 18,000 runs in international cricket. As captain, he guided India to the final of the 2003 ICC World Cup and laid the foundation for a golden period in the history of India cricket with several home wins in Test cricket.

BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal also denied these reports when contacted by NDTV.

Ganguly assumed the post of BCCI President in October 2019.
