Spencer’s Retail CEO, MD Devendra Chawla resigns

Spencer’s Retail Ltd on Friday said that its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Devendra Chawla has resigned with effect from January 20, 2023.

Spencer’s Retail Devendra Chawla has resigned as CEO and Managing Director and also as Director from the Board of the Company.

Devendra Chawla attended RP Sanjeev Goenka Group as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director in 2019 for a three-year term. Prior to this, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Walmart India.

Meanwhile, Eversource Capital-promoted shared electric mobility player greensail Mobility announced Devendra Chawla as its new CEO and he will report to the company’s board.

Dhanpal Jhaveri, Vice Chairman, Everstone Group and CEO, Eversource Capital, said Chawla’s experience in successfully leading multiple customer-centric businesses will help Greensail grow into India’s leading green surface transportation company.

He has over 26 years of experience having held various leadership positions including CEO of Future Consumer Limited (FCL) and Group President – Food, FMCG, Future Group. He also served as the CEO – Food & Business Head of Private Brands (Future Group). He also worked with Coca-Cola and Asian Paints.

Green Cell Mobility is implementing around 1,500 electric buses in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, New Delhi and Madhya Pradesh, of which more than 700 e-buses are operating in 23 cities.

Spencer’s Retail shares closed down by 2.32 per cent. 71.45 in BSE.
