Gurugram Police on Monday (July 11) said that an FIR has been registered against Singh, who is the chairman and managing director of SpiceJet, based on a complaint by one Amit Arora for allegedly cheating him on the pretext of allotting shares of the company. For.
“Liquor dealer Amit Arora has filed a frivolous, mischievous and completely bogus complaint with the Gurugram Police with an intention to tarnish the image of SpiceJet and Ajay Singh,” an airline spokesperson said in a statement.
What was the whole matter?
According to the complaint, Singh had given Arora a fake depository instruction slip for 10 lakh shares. This was for the services rendered to him by Arora.
The airline spokesperson also said that neither Singh nor any person related to the airline has met the complainant and there is no written agreement between them.
“We are confident that the police investigation will prove the same and the FIR will be quashed. The defamation suit will be filed by SpiceJet and Singh against the complainant,” the spokesperson said.
SpiceJet shares closed 0.64 per cent lower at Rs 38.85 in morning trade on BSE.
