New Delhi: A SpiceJet flight from New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to Nashik returned mid-city due to a glitch in the autopilot.
“SpiceJet B737 aircraft VT-SLP, operational flight SG-8363 (Delhi-Nashik) entered into an air turnback on Thursday due to a defect in the autopilot,” PTI quoted the official as saying.
He further said that the Boeing 737 aircraft landed safely.
This is not the first time that such an incident involving a carrier has been reported. SpiceJet planes have been involved in many incidents in the past as well.
On July 27, the aviation safety regulator also ordered the airline to operate a maximum of 50 per cent of its flights for eight weeks.

Total revenue for the quarter reported was 2,478 crore as against 1,266 crore in the same quarter last year. For the same comparable period, operating expenses were 3,267 crore as against 1,995 crores.
On EBITDA basis, the loss was 379 crore for the quarter reported against a loss of Rs. 244 crore for the quarter ended June FY 2022. The airline continued to add new destinations to its network.
The airline reported a net loss of 458 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2022 235.3 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021.
