Sputnik Light Coronavirus Vaccine | COVID Vaccine Sputnik Lite Receives Phase III Trial Approval: How is Sputnik Lite Different from Sputnik V?

Sputnik Lite is a new, different vaccine, developed by Russia’s Gamalya Institute in collaboration with RDIF. While Sputnik V (also known as Gum-Covid-Vac) is a two-dose vaccine, which is said to be one of the first publicly available vaccines in the world (approved in August 2020), Sputnik Lite is said to be one of the first publicly available vaccines in the world. It is the first ingredient used in the two-dose Sputnik V vaccine to generate antibodies in the system.

While there are some notable differences between the two, both vaccines are adenovirus-based vaccines, which were engineered and repurposed for use and invasion of effector cells. They are also both non-replicative COVID-19 vaccines.

While Sputnik V is a two-dose vaccine that targets immune cells to promote antibody production, Sputnik Lite is said to be a variant of the vaccine that contains components of other vaccines. Like another single-dose COVID vaccine promoted by Johnson & Johnson, Sputnik Light uses recombinant human adenovirus number 26 to transport the expected information across the system.
