Stock market holidays in October 2022: NSE, BSE will remain closed for these 3 days

Stock market holidays in October 2022: Trading on BSE and NSE will remain closed for three days due to festival holidays. As per the list of stock market holidays, trading on Dalal Street will be closed on 5 October 2022 for Dussehra festival, while it will be closed on 24 October 2022 and 26 October 2022 for Diwali and Diwali Balipratiprada celebrations respectively. However, Muhurta trading will take place on 24 October 2022. Timings and other details regarding Muhurta trading for 2022 will be notified by the Indian exchanges later.

Share Market Traders and investors are advised to note that trading in currency derivatives segment and interest rate derivatives segment will also remain closed on these three stock market holidays.

According to the details available on the BSE website, there will be “no action in Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment and SLB Segment” on these stock market holidays falling in October 2022.

In the Commodity module, trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will remain closed in the first half on all three stock market holidays, while in the second half on October 5 and October 26 at 5 pm. That is, trading on the Commodity Module or MCX will be closed in both the sessions on 24 October 2022.

Trading on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) will remain closed in both the sessions on October 5 and 26, 2022, while it will remain open in the second half on October 24, 2022.

After the Diwali Balipratiprada festival that falls on 26 October 2022, there will be just one more stock market holiday in November next month. NSE and BSE will remain closed for Guru Nanak Jayanti on 8th November 2022.

As per the complete list of Stock Market Holiday 2022, there were 13 holidays in the stock market and Guru Nanak Jayanti will be the last fall this year. It will not be the stock market holidays falling in the month of December 2022.

After the trend reversal in Friday’s session, the Indian stock market is still in the heat of sell-off. In Monday’s session till 2:10 pm, NSE Nifty is trading 150 points down at 16,943 level while BSE Sensex is trading down 450 points at 56,976 points. Bank Nifty is also trading 408 points south at 38,223 level.
