Whether you are in Kashmir or Kanyakumari, a buffet breakfast is incomplete without staples like idli, dosa, sambar, chutney and medu vada. The masala flavor of sambhar with earthy and crunchy dosa sings in the heart of every foodie! These South Indian dishes are undoubtedly one of the most loved dishes of Indian cuisine. They go beyond Indian breakfast; Street vendors make these classic dishes an integral part of street food! But the dosas that are being served on the street are no ordinary dosas, they have been spiced up through experiments to create unique dishes. One such road experiment resulted in the birth of Aag Handi Dosa. Are you wondering what this is? Then take a look:
In the beginning of the video the street vendors start by making a simple crispy dosa. Then he starts adding various toppings like tomato, onion, coconut chutney etc. Then, the seller takes a dollop of butter and melts it with a makeshift flamethrower over the topping. He mixes all these and decorates a large amount of paneer. Later, he caramelizes the topping with a flamethrower. He adds caramelized toppings to a handi, adds more butter and cheese! Finally, he places the dosa over the handi and sets the dosa on fire. The video was uploaded by Instagram food blogger @oye.foodieee. It has got 2 million views and 125k likes. This Fire Handi Dosa can be found in Iyer Ji Dosa in Geeta Colony, Delhi.
