A 17-year-old girl fell from the second floor of a school building on Monday and sustained multiple fractures in her legs and arms.
According to the police, the girl hails from a village near Mecheri and studies in the Government Higher Secondary School. She came to school on Monday morning and fell from the second floor of the building. The teachers provided first aid and admitted him to the Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital.
On receiving the information, Salem Deputy Commissioner SP Lavanya and District Collector S. Karmegam reached the hospital and talked to the girl. Mr Karmegam told reporters that during his conversation with the girl, he claimed that she had family issues so he tried to take the extreme step. Shri Karmegam said that action would be taken to provide counseling to all the school students of the district to avoid such incidents in future. Mecheri police is investigating after registering a case. Police sources claimed that the girl may have taken this step due to family objection to their love affair.
