The state government on Monday started the process of reaching out to the students and seeking their suggestions on the revision of the school curriculum.
General Education Minister V.Shivankutty inaugurated the outreach program at Bharathannur Government Higher Secondary School here.
Mr. Shivankutty said that the government is taking all the stakeholders along by discussing curriculum revision in district, block and gram panchayats and schools. The school level program will collect feedback from 48 lakh students across the state before November 15.
The suggestions and opinions will be collected and submitted to the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The last school curriculum revision took place in 2007.
Shri Shivankutty said that efforts would be intensified to improve the educational standards in government schools. He said that the government was committed to raise the standards of school education in the state to the international level.
The minister also inaugurated the new kitchen and dining hall and water testing laboratory set up in the school. DK Murali, MLA A.A. Rahim, Member of Parliament and Director Public Instruction K. Jeevan Babu was present.
Mr. Sivankutty later inaugurated the infrastructural facilities in seven schools of the Vamanapuram Legislative Assembly.
