Actor Sudhanshu Pandey’s Band of Boys is collaborating with iconic singer Asha Bhosle for their upcoming single.

Actor Sudhanshu Pandey’s Band of Boys, the Hindi music band he belongs to, is teaming up with the iconic singer, Asha Bhosle, for their upcoming single. Reflecting on the collaboration, he told Hindustan Times, “When Band of Boys was launched in 2002, it was Asha ji who encouraged us. In a way, you can say that we were born into this world of music with her blessing.”
Besides Sudhanshu, the band features actor Karan Oberoi, singer-music director Siddharth Haldipur, and singer Chaitanya (Chin2 Bhosle), who is also Asha’s grandson. Sudhanshu had previously taken a hiatus from the band to pursue his acting career but rejoined them last year.
Discussing their forthcoming single, set to be released on YouTube, Sudhanshu highlights Asha’s remarkable vitality, saying “Her age has nothing to do with her energy levels. She is as vibrant and as focused as a 25-year-old. At 92, she is an example for so many of us.”
Recalling his interactions with the legendary singer, Sudhanshu noted, “Given her age, we were cautious about not making her travel or exert too much. We filmed some beautiful moments at her Mumbai home, thanks to her kind invitation. Legends like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Mohammed Rafi, and Kishore Kumar have so much to offer, and every meeting with Asha ji was an opportunity to learn about the music industry’s past.”
When asked about his break from the band, the 50-year-old explained, “I was already married and had a child, so I had to ensure I earned enough to live in a city like Mumbai. In India, bands don’t earn like they do in the West.” He added, “Music is my passion, not my profession. I will always be an actor.”
On his acting career, Sudhanshu mentioned that after completing the TV series Anupamaa, he is now in a transition phase. “It was my first daily soap, and it did well for everyone involved. For the last eight months, I haven’t taken up any work. I’m waiting for something good on OTT or in films. Television requires a lot of time,” he concluded.
