Sushil Modi’s ‘broken’ Shiv Sena statement threatens storm in Maharashtra’s monsoon session

Mumbai: The BJP’s unintentional acknowledgment of disbanding the Shiv Sena – and allegations of the party running the show under the Eknath Shinde administration – is likely to heat up Maharashtra’s state politics, when the current government, the rebel Shiv Sena and the BJP, is in alliance. The first session of the assembly after the 4th July floor test.

The monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is going to begin from Wednesday.

Last week, BJP Rajya Sabha MP and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi while addressing a press conference said, Told That BJP never broke any of its allies. He was addressing the BJP’s split with the Janata Dal (United) in Bihar.

“They are saying that attempts were being made to break JD(U), the example of Shiv Sena is being given. Shiv Sena was not our ally,” he said.

MLAs and MLCs of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena told ThePrint that one of the key issues in the monsoon session of the legislature starting Wednesday will be how the BJP is allegedly running the show – bringing down the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Taking. (MVA) Government, to keep major portfolio with himself, and limited the monsoon session to just five days.

The MVA government consisted of the Shiv Sena, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress.

“This will definitely be the main issue during the monsoon season. The BJP was acting innocent, but everyone knew that the party was behind the split in Shiv Sena. Now, a responsible leader of the party has accepted and the BJP is left with no face to show,” said Shiv Sena MLA Bhaskar Jadhav, who has been loyal to Thackeray.

Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde led a revolt of 40 MLAs in June and walked out of the Thackeray-led MVA, causing it to collapse. After this the MLAs formed the government with BJP in which Shinde became the CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis became the deputy CM.

NCP spokesperson Mahesh Taapsee told ThePrint that the BJP was trying its best to topple the ruling government ever since the MVA came to power in 2019.

“BJP leaders have now accepted to dismantle the MVA government by splitting the Shiv Sena. “Shinde is CM only for beauty. The government is actually being run by Super CM Devendra Fadnavis,” he said. We will raise all these issues in the assembly session.
