The Railway Police on Friday recovered a suspicious object from the Pune railway station. The object looked like a firecracker, which was later taken up for investigation by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).
Government Railways Superintendent of Police Sadanand Ves Patil said, “The item found was not gelatin, it looked like a firecracker. BDDS teams of Pune Police and Railway Police have taken the object out of the railway station and they have taken it out of the railway station. Verified.” police.
The item was in a compartment near the waiting room. The tubes of three firecrackers were tied together with some wire. This was detected by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), who later alerted the BDDS officer
“There is no detonator or explosive material inside the object. We will dispose of it,” the BDDS official said.
