The Katana, which has now adopted Euro V emission standards, has received performance revisions. It is powered by a 999cc inline-four engine that makes 150 hp (2 hp more than the previous model). This is thanks to a new intake and exhaust cam, valve springs and airbox.
The 2022 Katana also gets a bidirectional quickshifter as standard, has a revised throttle-by-wire, and reworked slipper clutch and five-level traction control.
The instrument cluster of the 2022 Suzuki Katana has been upgraded with a new night mode. Visual enhancements include gold finish on the front forks, red on the rear shocks, two-tone seats and color coordination on the wheels. Plus, there are two new paint schemes to choose from – Solid Iron Gray and Metallic Matte Stellar Blue.
Talks about the arrival of the Katana in India have been going on ever since SMI did a showcase during the 2020 Auto Expo. After much delay due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Katana is now headed to India in its upgraded 2022 avatar. Expect a price tag north of Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
