T20 World Cup 2022: India and Pakistan, two arch rivals and two cricketing giants, are among the most dangerous sides in world cricket. When these two teams collide, nothing less than a blockbuster encounter is expected. Both the giants have qualified for the semi-finals and could meet for the second time in the tournament if they both win their respective matches.
Former Australia cricketer Shane Watson has said that people would love to see another match between India and Pakistan, keeping in mind the euphoric atmosphere and the escalating emotions on and off the field. “Everyone would love to see Pakistan and India in the final. Unfortunately, I missed the first (Super 12) game at the MCG, as I had previously commented on the game between Australia and New Zealand,” Watson said.
When there is a match between these two, the number of spectators also increases significantly and that match also forced people to eat their nails sitting in front of their screen. Watson continued, “But by all the reports, everyone who went with that game said that it was something special and the game was definitely an amazing game to watch on TV as well. They were in the T20 World Cup in 2007. Played in the final. And everyone would love to see it again.”
Watson further said that Pakistan would have more freedom to play as they were knocked out of the World Cup after their second loss in the Super 12 against Zimbabwe. “There are times in all tournaments where a team just lines up and somehow makes it to the final and then wins it. Especially when the way they played, the chances of making the semi-finals are not there. We’ve been doing it for a certain amount of time throughout this tournament,” Watson said.
“The freedom they’re going to get after not expecting much in the middle of the tournament, so the freedom they’re going to get is going to be very dangerous for the Kiwis,” Watson said.
