In-form Pakistan will take on Australia on Thursday evening Second Semi-Final of the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup At Dubai International Stadium. Cricketer-turned-commentator before the start of the game Aakash Chopra Came up with a satire video to preview the match. A video of Chopra’s unconventional and entertaining preview was posted on Ku. The 59-second clip begins with Chopra explaining what Australia would say to Pakistan if they discussed this fixture.
Here’s how Chopra described the fake-talk between Australia and Pakistan:
Australia to Pakistan: “Oh, remember the semifinals of 87? 99 finals will not be forgotten, Lord’s ground, 2010 semi-finals, 2015 quarter final, (Do you remember the 1987 World Cup semi-final? Or the 1999 World Cup final at Lord’s? Or the 2010 semi-final, the 2015 quarter-final?)”
Australia: “Have you ever won a match in ICC matches till date? Don’t live, man. (Did you ever beat us in an ICC tournament? No you didn’t)”
After that, a picture of former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed flashes on the screen and is replaced by Babar Azam in song form.Hey that year was second, this year is second‘ (That was a different year, it’s a different year) plays in the background – Chopra’s way of describing the change in leadership of the Pakistan cricket team.
The drama of the play doesn’t end here as an aerial clip from a city plays on the screen and a narrator says, “Khushmadid ye second Pakistan hai. (It’s a different Pakistan).
Former Pakistan captain and the country’s current prime minister, Imran Khan, also makes a brief appearance in the video when a clip of one of his rallies appears on the screen.
Chopra tells his audience how this Pakistan team has not lost a single match in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since 2016. He then returns to talks on Australia and Pakistan, using dialogues from the film ‘Chalang’.
Australia: “Even a dog is a lion in its street. (The dog also behaves like a lion in his backyard)”
Pakistan: “You are right, and we are lions (You’re right. And we’re lions anyway)”.
Chopra also talks about how both Australia and Pakistan are heavily dependent on their openers, using late Bollywood actor Raj Kumar’s famous dialogue from the film ‘Waqt’ – “Those whose houses are made of glass, they do not throw stones at others., (Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others)”
Chopra also conceded that the match between Pakistan and Australia will be all about their pace attack as both the sides have some lethal bowlers including Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc.

Chopra uses a dialogue from the film ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ to find the right way to end the video. The clip ends with the late Irrfan Khan saying, “Don’t you want this to be a war? Will be sad, you will swear (You want this to be a war, okay? There will be a fierce battle, I swear to you).
