Bahujan Samaj Party worker Arshad Rana started crying bitterly on Friday after he was denied ticket in the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh. A video of Rana weeping and complaining about his party has surfaced on social media.
“Tamasha bana diya… (They made fun of me). I never thought this would happen. You promise me tickets and then you give them to someone else. You guys put daily advertisements in newspapers and on hoardings Must have seen. I did everything and still..,” the BSP leader said in the video.

He said that he has been working for BSP for 24 years and was formally declared candidate from Charthwal in 2018 for 2022 UP elections.
“I am working for 24 years; Was formally declared candidate from Charthwal in 2018, trying to contact party, no proper response; asked to arrange Rs 50 lakh Have… have already paid around Rs 4.5 lakh,” he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
On Thursday, the BSP announced its candidates from Charthaval and Gangoh assembly seats. The Mayawati-led party has fielded Muslim candidates from both the seats in western UP. Mayawati tweeted on Thursday morning, “Salman Saeed, son of former Home Minister of Muzaffarnagar district, Mr. Syeduzzaman, met BSP chief late on 12th January and left Congress and joined Bahujan Samaj Party. BSP has made Sayeed its candidate from Charthaval assembly seat.
Elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held in 7 phases. Voting will be held in seven phases in UP on February 10, February 14, February 20, February 23, February 27, March 3 and March 7. The results of the elections will be declared on March 10.
The first phase will start from western Uttar Pradesh and gradually move towards eastern Uttar Pradesh. This time also the elections in UP will start from West UP and end in Purvanchal like last time. Voting will be held in 58 assembly seats in the first phase and 64 assembly seats in the last phase.
There are a total of 403 seats in the UP Assembly, out of which 202 is the majority mark. These 403 constituencies are distributed over seven broad areas – West UP (44 constituencies), Rohilkhand (52), Doab (73), Awadh (78), Bundelkhand (19), Eastern UP (76) and North East UP (61). have been done.
