Chief Minister MK Stalin announced a compensation of ₹3 lakh to the family of the deceased. nilgiri student who died She and three others consumed too many nutritional pills as part of a bet among students at the Udhagamandalam Municipality-run Urdu Middle School in Khandal.
The girl was among the four girl students who were admitted to the intensive care unit of the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) following the incident. On Thursday, Jaibha Fatima (13) died of liver failure while being taken to Stanley Medical College after her health deteriorated.
J. Nashazia, S. Aisha and M. Gulthun Nisha are undergoing treatment at CMCH. The four students had consumed the tablets which were given to the school authorities as part of the weekly iron and folic supplement programme. Jaibha Fatima had consumed more than 50 pills.
On Friday, the Chief Minister expressed his condolences to the family of Zaibha Fathima. He also announced a compensation of Rs 1 lakh each to the families of the three students under treatment.
