Tamil Nadu CM wants representation of all sections in appointment of judges

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday said that all sections of people should be represented in the appointment of judges in the presence of the Chief Justice along with Supreme Court judges, Justice Indira Banerjee, Justice V Ramasubramaniam, and Justice MM Sundaresh. of Madras High Court.

The Chief Minister was laying the foundation stone of the multi-storey Joint Court Building for subordinate courts in Chennai. He also reiterated his demand for a Supreme Court bench in Chennai to be used by the South Indian people.

Stalin also said that Tamil should be made an official language in the Madras High Court so that litigants can understand the proceedings of the court.

Requesting for the “compassionate consideration of the Hon’ble Supreme Court Judges”, the CM said, he believed that the representation made by him would be considered by the judges of the apex court.

The Chief Minister said that the government run by him is governed by law, justice and social justice and that the government and the judiciary have worked for the good and justice of the people respectively, while the government and the judiciary have worked for the good and justice of the people respectively. .

Justice is intertwined with the welfare and welfare of the people, the Chief Minister said while reiterating his government’s resolve to extend full support at all times for the up-gradation of infrastructure related to the judiciary.

The beginning of the renovation of the old Law College building for use by the Madras High Court was inaugurated by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Judge of the Supreme Court.

Madras Law College was inaugurated in 1891 but later its name was changed to Dr BR Ambedkar. It is a heritage building and is adjacent to the High Court complex.

The Chief Minister recalled how the medical college was renamed after Ambedkar by his late father and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
