Chennai: Tamil Nadu announced on Thursday free treatment for the road accident victims For the first 48 hours.
State will cover up to Rs 1 lakh per person for 81 life saving procedures, CM MK Stalin said. People from other states and countries will also participate in this.
For this, 609 hospitals have been identified.
The state has set aside Rs 50 crore for the first phase of implementation of “Inuyir” kappom thittam,
The state will implement the policy for one year and will link it with the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme. The state will also make laws for emergency medical services. It will focus on five elements – emergency response, rescue and resuscitation, damage control surgery, immobilization and rehabilitation.
Stalin said students from schools, colleges, NGOs and members of the public would be involved to convert road safety into a mass movement in the state.
