Jersey has opened to good reviews. News18’s review read: “The film can be considered long – given the runtime of 2 hours 45 minutes, but it doesn’t make you feel that way. The long sequences of the first half perfectly represent that gloom and gloom.” The one who has penetrated inside Arjun, and the shadow of his old self that he has replaced. It keeps the interest of the audience. However, the second half slows down a bit for a while. But, by the end, Shahid Hits a six, and the thrill of a nail-biting cricket match will be felt.”

Shahid has proved his mettle with his portrayal of Arjun, a failed cricketer, who gets back in the game for his son at the age of 36. Mrunal Thakur, who plays Arjun’s wife Vidya, also made a remarkable performance. The film also stars Shahid’s father and veteran actor Pankaj Kapur in an important role.

The film was originally scheduled to release on April 14, the same day as the blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2, but was postponed a few days before its release. The film with Rajneesh Jaiswal fell into hot water. The writer claimed that Jersey had plagiarized his script and landed the entire film in legal trouble. Fortunately, the Bombay High Court ruled in favor of Jersey.
