Tata cars/SUVs including Safari, Harrier, Nexon to be costlier – Times of India

Swadeshi Auto Major Bye Motors on Saturday increased the prices of its passenger vehicles by up to 1.1%, depending on the individual model and variant. In an official statement, the company claimed that the increase in prices is due to rising input costs. The increase in prices has come into effect from today i.e. 23 April.
The current hike comes two months after Tata Motors raised prices of its passenger vehicles by up to 0.9% in January. It then made a similar statement citing a ‘huge increase in overall input cost’.
The company had also increased the prices of its commercial vehicles by up to 2.5% earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Tata Motors has become one of the best-selling passenger vehicle manufacturers in the Indian market in recent years, all thanks to its extensive mass-market portfolio. In 2020, Tata Motors became the first company to launch a fully electric subcompact SUV in the country in the form of the Nexon EV, followed by the first electric subcompact sedan, the Tigor EV, in 2021.
The domestic carmaker’s portfolio comprises seven ICE cars namely Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Punch, Nexon, Harrier, and SafariWith two EVs – Nexon EV and Tigor EV.
Recently, Tata Motors sent out media invites for the global unveiling of a new EV scheduled for April 29. The manufacturer has not confirmed what this new electric vehicle will be.
