Domestic automaker, Tata Motors has announced signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to help it set up a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) in the state. The MoU was signed at the Conference on Investment Opportunities in Highways, Transport and Logistics in Mumbai, Maharashtra in the presence of Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. The proposed scrappage center will have a recycling capacity of up to 35,000 vehicles a year for end-of-life passenger and commercial vehicles.

Tata Motors and the Government of Maharashtra, through the Department of Industries, Energy and Labor have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which will assist in facilitating the necessary approvals for setting up a scrappage centre.
