After months of establishing himself as a national player and touring states to meet anti-BJP leaders, Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi President K Chandrasekhar Rao is on mission 2024. He is all set to start his own national party.

Muhurta (Good time) The party has been scheduled for 1:19 pm today for the launch of what may be called the Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti.

On Sunday, the chief minister, also known as KCR, held a luncheon meeting with his cabinet colleagues and all 33 district presidents of the party. KCR is said to have discussed the roadmap for the launch of the national party.

KCR has been nurturing national ambitions since 2018 with a standard attacking point that both the BJP and the Congress have failed the country.

At various fora, Mr KCR had reiterated that “very soon, a national party will be formed and its policies will be formulated”. Now his direct contest is with BJP.

BJP Telangana spokesperson NV Subhash said the entry into national politics was a strategy by KCR to address the failures of his government. “A 12-seater plane was bought for the new party for Rs 100 crore. This is a famous example of how public money was stolen. This will not be tolerated by the BJP,” he said.

The first election to be contested under the party is probably going to be the Munugode bypoll, which is expected to be held on November 4. The party is likely to contest assembly elections in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi.

Mocking KCR’s national plans, Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy said, “There is nothing new in the coming and disappearing of parties. KCR once said that apocalypse is about to come and it is.”

KCR is also expected to reveal his party’s agenda after the meeting in Hyderabad. Elected members of parliament and assembly, members of legislative council, district council president, mayor and municipal president, adding up to 283, are expected to participate.

The party wants to retain its election symbol of the car and its pink colour, but it is still a long way from officially becoming a national party.

KCR has told party leaders that he should visit various states to talk about the “hugely successful” welfare schemes in Telangana in the last eight years to increase the party’s political influence.
