Chennai: The Tamil Nadu The State Archaeological Department has unearthed an intricate design terracotta female statue Feather vembakottai ancient sites Virudhunagar District Seoni.
The department started the first phase of excavation at Vembkottai on March 14 this year. So far more than 1,500 artifacts have been unearthed including pearls, shell ornaments.
Two weeks ago, a terracotta handmade humpback bull was discovered. Now, another terracotta idol has been found, which is 6 cm in height and 4.1 cm in width. Its thickness is 1.6 cm. The top of the head is damaged, but his nose is sharp and his arms are outstretched.
Ornaments can be seen around the neck. Three circular button-like ornaments are visible below the neck ornament. One such is around the hip of the idol. Both the legs are covered with embossed circular decoration.
