New Delhi: Electric vehicle company owned by Elon Musk Tesla Media reports said that approvals have been received for three more trims of its electric vehicles in India, taking a total of seven versions to be approved in the country.
Tesla India Teslarati said on Monday that three more vehicles were approved in the country, citing information received from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
In August, Tesla received homologation certificates for four of its car models. With three more certifications, the electric vehicle maker now has seven vehicles approved in India.
The exact Tesla variants that received approval have not been specified. However, the Model 3S and Model YS have been spotted on Indian roads, the report said.
It added that the names of the latest three vehicles with homologation certificates are also not there.
Some Tesla test units are regularly navigating through local roads in India. Nevertheless, the US-based EV maker has not yet taken any serious steps towards local production.
