Nagpur: The daily testing numbers increased across the region, but new cases remained low in all 11 districts on Tuesday. The number of recoveries was four times more than the number of new cases while there were four deaths.
Vidarbha districts together reported 494 cases, with only Nagpur’s figure above the 100 mark. This was the second day in a row that the cases in the region remained less than 500. Overall, 1,606 recoveries and four deaths including one from Nagpur city were recorded.
Daily tests rose to 15,050 after falling to around 8,000 a day earlier. The number of active cases dropped significantly to around 6,200, further increasing the recovery rate.
Bhandara: 2,148 tests were conducted in the district and 26 new cases were reported, while 171 were cured, while 288 became active.
Gondia: One has died in the district and eight positive cases have been reported. More than 28 patients are active while 524 tests were conducted and 28 patients have been cured.
Akola: 52 new cases have been reported in the district against 22 cured patients and 322 tests. Active cases are 232.
Gadchiroli: More than 54 new cases were reported and 22 were cured. Now 616 patients are active.
Buldhana: There are 576 active cases in the district after 72 new cases were registered and 52 were discharged. It did 458 tests.
Washim: Out of 544 tests, 45 cases have been reported in the district in the last 24 hours and 45 have been cured. There were no deaths while 347 are active.
Amravati: For the second consecutive day in the district, one death was reported on Tuesday. A 16-year-old girl from Amjari village in Amravati taluka died at the District General Hospital. This took the toll to 1,586. Out of 493 samples tested, only 13 new cases were reported.
Yavatmal: No death has been reported during the last 24 hours, due to which there is no change in the death toll. The administration received 879 reports out of which 17 were found positive (9 women and 8 men).
Wardha: One more death was reported, taking the death toll to 1,348. With 9 new positive cases out of 660 reports, the caseload rose to 57,891.
Chandrapur: On Tuesday, 282 active patients remained under treatment after 38 recovery and 43 recovery. One more death was reported in the day, taking the death toll to 1,564.
