The senior leader said that the minister would meet the authors who have withdrawn their consent to use their works in textbooks and tell them about the measures initiated.
Dalit forums protested
Karnataka Dalit Chaluvali Navnirman Vedic state unit chief Harihara Anandaswamy on Wednesday demanded the state government to remove Rohit Chakratirtha, chairman of the state textbook revision committee, from the post.
“The inclusion of new lessons by the committee has not only created controversy but has also drawn criticism from different sections of the society. The committee forcefully incorporated lessons from the BJP’s hidden agenda, such as the writings of RSS ideologue Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, in school textbooks. He also criticized the committee for removing Kuvempu’s lessons as well as insulting his naadgithee. He urged Education Minister BC Nagesh to resign after taking moral responsibility for this nuisance.
