The collector discussed the preparations for the two-day G-20 conference

Collector a. Mallikarjuna held a coordination meeting here on Wednesday to discuss the arrangements for the upcoming G-20 Summit to be held on March 29 and 30 in Visakhapatnam.

Officials from the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), tourism, revenue, roads and buildings and a few other departments participated.

During the meeting, Shri Mallikarjuna discussed about the possible venue, forum, accommodation, transport and other arrangements for the delegates from 20 countries attending the meeting. He said that cultural programs should be organized depicting the culture and traditions of the region.

The collector asked GVMC commissioner P. Raja Babu to ensure that all roads, major junctions and tourist places are cleaned as the delegates can visit local tourism and sightseeing places, he said. He said that major tourist places like RK Beach, Rishikonda, Yarda, Erra Matty Dibbalu, Thotlakonda, Kailasagiri, Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) should be made plastic free.
