The new FIA president Mohamed Ben Sulayem is said to be involved in the investigation.
Findings on the events of the Abu Dhabi GP to be posted on 3 February
The motorsport ruling body, after it was revealed that Lewis Hamilton has decided to review his future in F1, after the FIA posted its findings in a review of decisions taken during the final few laps of the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP has revealed that it just started work on the review and that it will post its findings on February 3. Reports emerged that the FIA had struck a behind-the-scenes deal with the Mercedes team, in order to get it to drop its appeal on decisions by the FIA race director. Michael Massi resulting in Max Verstappen overtaking Lewis Hamilton to win the World Championship.
While Mercedes continues to deny a deal with the FIA, reports suggest it has sought the removal of Michael Massi as race director and Nicolas Tombazis as head of technical affairs. Mercedes denied a deal, however, has said it will hold the FIA responsible for not only the analysis but the actions. While Maisie’s situation is becoming increasingly unstable, there is no clear successor who could complicate matters.
A report by Sky Sports F1 also revealed that several other teams have also expressed unhappiness over the way Massie has run the show since Charlie Whiting passed away in 2019.
Rapidly the position of the aunt has come into the shadows
Hamilton has been silent since the end of the 2021 world championship, where he said in a post-race interview that we will see about next year, even if he has a contract with Mercedes until the end of the 2023 season. Hamilton has just turned 37 and will now be the second oldest driver on the grid after Fernando Alonso, who turns 41 in 2022. Many believe that Hamilton may have given up on winning his less-breaking 8th title.

The new FIA president Mohamed Ben Sulayem has also revealed that Hamilton has not responded to his offers. He also said Hamilton could potentially be punished for not showing up for the FIA season-ending gala where the world championship trophy is handed out. As Hamilton was runner-up, his presence was mandatory, but both the Briton and his team’s boss, Toto Wolff, did not appear for the event, although Mercedes’ chief technical officer, James Allison, received the team’s constructor’s title.
