Central government officials who are below the level of Under Secretary will be able to do ‘work from home’ till February 15. The Personnel Ministry on Monday extended the work from home arrangement for only 50% of government employees. According to the order of the Ministry, the exemption from coming to the offices will continue for disabled persons and pregnant women employees.
Earlier, on January 3, Ministry of Personnel Work from home was allowed for 50% of the employees below the level of Under Secretary till January 31 due to the spike in COVID-19 cases. Now the government has extended this order till Tuesday, February 15. According to the order of the Ministry of Personnel, officers and employees of the central government will have to follow the prescribed timings- 9 am to 5.30 pm and 10 am to 6.30 pm to avoid overcrowding in offices.
“Physical Appearance” Government Employees below the level of Under Secretary will be restricted to 50% of the actual strength and the remaining 50% will work from home. A roster may be prepared accordingly by all the departments concerned,” the order said.
All officers of the level of Under Secretary and above have to attend the office regularly.
The Personnel Ministry also extended the suspension of biometric attendance for employees till February 15.
