Hindu With restrictions in place for COVID-19, the young Indian will hold its annual ‘Margazhi Music Competition’ for classical musicians. The event is open to classical singers, instrumentalists and instrumentalists up to the age of 40.
It will be conducted for three categories – children (below 12 years), junior (13-19 years) and senior (20-40 years). Those wishing to participate must submit their entries before December 31. A jury of persons trained in the arts will judge the entries and select the winners. Participants can upload their videos to their Google Drive or Dropbox account and register https://bit.ly/THMSC2 Or scan the QR code.
An e-certificate of appreciation will be given to all those who register. Videos must be for a maximum duration of five minutes. In ‘Vocal/Instrumental’: Work‘ category, participants can send a solo rendition of anyone Work of a famous musician. For ‘Vocal/Instrumental’: knocked down‘ category, they can send solo recitals of the compositions of Annamacharya, Purandaradas, Bhadrachal Ramdas, Sadashiv Brahmendra, Meera, Kabir, Surdas, Tulsidas, Jayadeva and others; love tamil pieces thevarami, thiruppavai, thiruppugazh and the works of Subramanya Bharathi and others; Tilanas, padams, Javalis, Hymns, unbrokens and similar semi-classical works. Those participating in the ‘Bump: Solo’ category should send one Lock Display.
