The man in the street dressed as Jack Sparrow, the Internet calls him “Johnny Loan”

The man posed as Jack Sparrow in search of money.

A video of a beggar dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow is doing the rounds on the internet. It showed the man completely imitating the mannerisms of Johnny Depp (who played the character in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise) when asking for money, and even carrying a toy gun to complete the look.

The video surfaced two months ago, when Mr Depp was fighting a legal battle against his ex-wife Amber Heard, but is once again going viral on Twitter and other social media platforms.

In it a beggar can be seen shooting a clip at a traffic light in the car of a man. He takes out his toy gun and starts walking towards the car. After reaching the car window, he takes off his hat to collect money from the man.

After collecting the money, he smiles like a Jack Sparrow and leaves. It is not known where the video was shot.

Users have given thumbs up to the performance of the beggar. “That’s Johnny Loans,” said one Twitter user. “I just used to give $100 to brother for the effort,” tweeted another.

The video shared by user @javroar has garnered nearly eight million views and over 364,000 likes.

Mr Depp recently won a defamation suit against Ms Heard for her 2018 article Washington Post. He was asked to pay $10.35 million in damages to the actor.

His team is now trying to overturn the verdict, claiming that it is not supported by evidence.

The Aquaman actress’s legal team also claims that the jury’s $10.35 million decision on Ms. Heard is “inconsistent and irreversible” with the jury’s determination that she and Depp both defame each other. In addition to Mr. Depp’s $10 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages, the jury awarded Heard $2 million in compensatory damages for his counterclaim.
