The Prime Minister’s Museum: Where History Is Bringing to Life Through Technology – The Henry Club

The Prime Ministers’ Museum at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library by Tagbin is a wonderful display of India’s journey through the eras of different Prime Ministers. The Tagbin team, which includes designers, project management consultants and technology consultants, has created a state-of-the-art showcase of Prime Ministers’ achievements over the past 75 years.

The museum is the perfect amalgamation of history and art, with immersive digital technology bringing to life the words and lives of prime ministers. On 14 April 2022, Prime Minister- Narendra Modi along with the Tagbin team, unveiled the museum for the public to witness a new era of historical spectacle.

75 years of history in 7.5 hours

The museum houses 7.5 hours of immersive material and is a detailed walk-through of each Prime Minister’s vision for the country. Revisiting the past is great to take a peek into the future and know how the nation has been shaped by the past leaders of the country.

The entire museum is a spectacle to witness – with an entrance hall adorned with a 3D printed national emblem swirling in the air. To add to the appeal is an artful mobile installation of multiple Kinetic LED lights suspended from the ceiling. It immerses the audience in a kaleidoscope of wonderful tricolor patterns and sets the mood for the rest of the journey, and drives people to the performances.

The museum is a compelling sensory experience and an accessible one at that. Each guest can choose their handheld audio device and select their preferred language; It is a truly 360 experience that includes smart voice-over, impressive visuals and state-of-the-art technology.

The audio guide is not just inclusive, it is also one of the most advanced audio guides created by the best technicians in the country. Audio auto-syncs to exhibitions and helps people navigate the museum’s large expanses with indoor navigation.

Tagbin has paid attention to the subtle details. An IoT connected via MMS helps to control the display, update the content, and send health status and updates to the visitor taking utmost care.

The reception is embellished with a vibrant image of the national emblem, while the museum’s logo shows several hands holding the Dharma Chakra – a symbol of nation and democracy.

A time machine has been put in place to help people re-live every Prime Minister’s words to take them back in time. From the path-breaking speech of Prime Minister Nehru (‘Tryst with Destiny’) to a room dedicated to understanding the making of the Constitution, the museum has everything.

The museum re-enacts the past by showcasing the profound life of each Prime Minister till date and harmonizes with the future by showcasing policies and amendments for the betterment of each and every citizen.

A team of technical professionals, a timeless journey

This isn’t Tagbin’s first foray with immersive technology-based museums, but it is one of its most ambitious projects. The Prime Minister’s Museum is at Teen Murti Marg, New Delhi, 110011. It is open to the public in the summer from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Accessibility has been ensured for all. Buildings I and II have ramps with free wheelchair access at all times. All lifts in the building can have manual as well as motorized wheelchairs.
