The US dollar moved up 12 paise to 82.08 in early trade

The US dollar gained one point by 12 paise to 82.08 in early trade on Friday due to a rise in domestic equity markets and straightening oil in the dam. Forex dealers said that large-scale foreign withdrawals and increased demand for the dollar from importers could have an impact on capital rupee and restrict quantities.

At the Interbank forex exchange market, the US dollar opened at 82.15 first, then moved further up at 82.08, showing an increase of 12 paise over its previous close. The domestic currency remained at a low of 82.22 per dollar in the ritzer.

On Thursday, the American currency closed down by 40 paise at 82 per dollar.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, reflecting the position of the US dollar against six major currencies, climbed 0.09 per cent to 101.84.

Global oil index Brent crude was down 0.10 per cent at $82.09 per barrel.
