NS Government of Uttarakhand According to a new order issued on Monday, it has been decided to extend the COVID-19 induced curfew across the state till October 19.

However, the government has said that the anti-Covid vaccination activity will continue as usual.

This comes even as the state government had approached the Uttarakhand High Court last week, seeking removal of the daily limit imposed on the number of pilgrims visiting Chardham.

The current limit is 1,000 for Badrinath, 800 for Kedarnath, 600 for Gangotri and 400 for Yamunotri.

The state government’s application states that the daily limit of pilgrims is affecting the earnings of those engaged in Chardham-related businesses, as the yatra, which started with a delay, can go on till mid-November only.

However, the court directed that the matter be mentioned in the regular bench of the Chief Justice on Monday.
