Elections were held in Tripura on 16 February and in Nagaland and Meghalaya on 27 February. The results will be declared on 2 March.
Asserting that there will be no hung assembly in Tripura, Nagaland or Meghalaya, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said the NDA will form governments with absolute majority in all the three northeastern states.
NEDA convenor Sarma said that none of the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) partners would forge an alliance with the Congress or the Trinamool Congress.
“There will be no hung assembly. NDA will form government in all the three states.”
Asked about the chief ministerial candidates in the three states, he said status quo would remain in Tripura and Nagaland.
“Tripura will have a BJP CM, while we are in a coalition government in Nagaland,” said the convenor of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA).
The CM for Meghalaya will be decided after considering the number of states won by the BJP.
Elections were held in Tripura on 16 February and in Nagaland and Meghalaya on 27 February. The results will be declared on March 2.
