These WhatsApp users get a new shortcut with the beta update – Times of India

WhatsApp Has released a beta update that brings a new shortcut for the users. WABetaInfo reveals that the update brings the app’s version up to 2.21.24.6 and it adds a new shortcut to quickly start a video call while watching a status update shared by another user. To access the shortcut, you can tap on the three dots icon in the top right corner of the screen while viewing the status update and in the menu, you can see the option “Video call”. Shortcuts is only available for Android devices right now, but it is expected to be available soon for iOS users as well.
The platform had earlier added a shortcut that allows users to initiate voice calls with other WhatsApp contacts in the same section. Users who still have the 2.21.23 beta update can get voice call shortcuts. Shortcuts are not yet available on the stable version of the app for Android and iOS platforms.
A feature called Message Reaction is also working and it has been noticed by many users when the company accidentally enabled it. For that feature, a feedback notification option was also seen under the Notifications tab in Settings on the iOS app. Now WABetaInfo has revealed that the company is also working on React notifications for the Android app with the latest beta update.
Earlier this month, the platform added a multi-device feature for all beta users. This feature allows users to use the platform on multiple devices even when there is no connectivity on the main smartphone. Users can link one WhatsApp account to up to four more devices. The app no longer sends alerts about security code changes every time a new device is linked.
