Imran Khan claimed that a complete murder conspiracy was hatched against him 2 months ago.
Islamabad:
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday claimed that three bullets were fired from his right leg after attacking him at a political rally in Gujranwala.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief made these claims while speaking from his residence in Lahore’s Zaman Park during an exclusive interview with CNN’s Becky Anderson.
Imran Khan was quoted as saying by CNN, “They fired three bullets from my right leg. There were some shrapnel on the left side which they left inside.”
When asked whether and by whom she got the information, she said that it came from within the intelligence agencies.
“Remember, three and a half years I was in power. I have relationships with intelligence agencies, various agencies that operate,” he said.
Imran Khan further claimed that the entire assassination plot against him was conceived two months ago, ARY News reported on Monday, quoting Imran Khan’s interview with CNN.
He said, “It all started when I was ousted, and since then it was expected that my party would fall apart, but what happened instead was that there was a huge public backlash and my party was torn apart.” Got immense support,” he said.
As reported by ARY News, Imran Khan claimed that the current government had planned an attack on him and wanted to show that a “religious fundamentalist did it”.
“It was a planned assassination attempt. I was already on air and warned that it would happen,” he said.
Earlier on Monday, Imran Khan wrote a letter to the country’s President Arif Alvi, asking him to take action against “abuse of power and violation of laws and constitution”.
“No individual or state institution can be above the law of the land. We are witnessing widespread abuse of civilians at the hands of evil elements within state organizations, including custodial torture and kidnapping. Khan said Alvi I am requesting you to take action now to prevent abuse of power and violation of our laws and constitution, which ensures fundamental rights of every citizen.
