It may be noted that Sri Guru Ram Das Niwas – the site of the third low-intensity blast – is the oldest ‘sarai’ (lodge).
Three low-intensity blasts in a week near the Golden Temple
The first blast took place on 6 May and the second on Monday. The site of the low-intensity blast that took place on Wednesday night is about two kilometers from Heritage Street near the city’s popular tourist destination Golden Temple.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Punjab Police have collected forensic samples from the blast site and are probing the incident. On May 6, one person was injured in a blast in Heritage Street near the Golden Temple and glass panes of some buildings were damaged in the blast.
Then the second blast took place on 8 May.
