WhatsApp will soon launch a unique feature to make it easier to manage your conversations. The company said it is currently working on bringing chat filters to its platform that will filter chats based on unread messages, from contacts, saved numbers and groups not in your phonebook.
WABetaInfo said that this feature is already part of WhatsApp Business and now the company is planning to introduce the same feature for regular non-business users as well.
If you are a heavy WhatsApp user, the new filters will help you manage your conversation list in a more simple way.
Here’s what you need to know about the new feature:
- The Filter button will appear in the top app bar, where you’ll be able to refine which chats are shown to your liking.
- For WhatsApp Business users, the filter toggle is visible only when they use the search bar. But, for regular users, the button should always be visible.
- WABetaInfo also said, the new feature will work in WhatsApp’s desktop app, Android and iOS apps.
WhatsApp has historically been slow to introduce new additions to its platform and offer a barebones messaging experience. And going by this habit of testing new features for extended periods of time, don’t expect this feature to arrive anytime soon.
For now, though, you’ll have to wait until WhatsApp rolls out the feature for its beta users.
