The drinking water generator is made by an Israeli company called Watergen. It uses the humidity in the atmosphere to generate drinking water in a process similar to how an air conditioner works. The air first passes through an air filter, and the purified air passes through a heat exchanger, where the water condenses. The water is then purified using UV light and a cascade filter, which also minerals it, providing drinking water. The system was added to the car to raise awareness of water scarcity, and can generate up to 20 liters of water a day depending on outdoor conditions such as humidity and air temperature.
