During a search and cordon operation in the Waterhole area of Budgam, a fierce encounter with the hiding terrorists broke out in the early hours of Wednesday, an official said.

Additional Director General of Police Vijay Kumar said, “Three terrorists of terrorist organization Lashkar (The Resistance Front) including terrorist Latif Rather are trapped in the ongoing encounter.”
He said the implicated Latif was involved in the killings of several civilians, including: Rahul BhatiA Kashmiri Pandit employee, who was killed in his office in May this year, and Amrin Bhat, an artist who is popular on social media.
